School has started! Time to take advantage of back to school sales.
A large part of our mission is education. From elementary school to college and trade school, we promote self-improvement and self-reliance for the residents of the Sioux Reservations.
The two Head Start-type Programs we have been supporting also encourage the moms to finish their education. They have requested basic school supplies for the 20-25 clients they each serve.
Sandy Wilcox is the head nurse at Rosebud Sioux Tribe Maternal and Child in Mission, South Dakota.

Oglala Lakota College Head Start
This amazing program not only prepares children for their schooling, but allow the parents to pursue their studies.
With 10 locations, they cater to 300 children from 0 to age 5.

Marty Indian School:
This Elementary school is in the Yankton Sioux Reservation. Lakota Friends Circle, in cooperation with Sew For Kids, provide supplies, healthy snacks, and clothing.
As the school year is starting August 2025, this is a great time send school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, etc. and give the students a great start. We do ask that you avoid sharp objects such as pointy scissors. Read more about the history-rich school here: Marty Indian School
