We are a group of volunteers, dedicated to helping others one stitch at a time! 

Our mission is simple: to use our skill and our time to touch the world and build friendships with one another.

We are a volunteer organization based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We knit and crochet items for various charities locally and abroad, including organizations supported by Lakota Friends Circle and their partner groups.

Halfknits started in May of 2004 with a small group of friends, and what started as a hobby quickly became a labor of love. Our group has worked very hard over the past several years to lovingly make blankets, hats, sweaters, scarves and other cold weather items to help keep people warm — people who otherwise wouldn’t have the resources to buy as little as a warm coat.

Do you have yarn or know of someone who has yarn or supplies just sitting on the shelf?

We can turn that yarn into warm blankets and hats for someone in need.

Do you want to learn to knit, crochet or grow beyond the basics?

Come and join us at one of our get togethers. We enjoy meeting and teaching new people with giving hearts.
